Children's Book Clubs - Join Your Kids
As an adult dont you feel a great sense of responsibilty and belonging to something when you are a member of some club or the other. Well it's the same with kids, as a parent you should inculcate those same feelings at a young age in your kids and what better place than children's book clubs.
It's truly a great idea to read to your kids. This is something you can pass on to them starting at a very early age. Imagine how much better it is than television. Help your child delve into a good story. It will intrigue them and have them coming back for more on a regular basis.
We all can take full advantage of this concept in this day and age. As any fool can see, there are books galore around every corner. Have you been to the local Barnes and Noble lately, or even to the public library? Both are a great source for children's books and much more. I even went as far as getting my little girl in some children's book clubs. She loves this. How much are you reading with your kids?
I have to laugh out loud when I hear parents converse about how their kids hate books. I don't believe this for one minute. The truth is if you get your children started with reading at a young age, they will love it 9 times out of 10. Now, I'm not merely talking about them reading on their own. I am talking about you the parents reading to them and with them.
Heck, even get them involved in a few children's book clubs. I started, or I should say we started reading to our daughter when she was 2 years old. Now, keep in mind that some parents even begin earlier. It all depends on you. Anyway, now our little girl is seven years old and she utterly loves it when we read to her.
My wife and I got her hooked on a couple children's book clubs, and we make it a habit of reading every day. This is how parents should do it. Sure, we both have regular jobs, but everyone is home in the evening.
| Is it really different in your house? I think too many parents are wasting time watching television when they could be reading to their kids. |
My wife and I alternate nights. She reads "Junaby Jones" to my daughter on one night, and then I read her "Goosebumps" on the next. My daughter loves it. If I ever say it's time to read, she will gladly turn off the TV. She prefers the story over television.
You should get your kids involved with some children's book clubs. This will get them more excited about reading. Let them choose what they want to read and what they want read to them. As long as it's on their level, it should be fine.
If you were to search online for "children's book clubs" you are sure to find several close to where you live, if not why not start one.
