Books for Children - Do You Have a Favorite?
I am sure there are at least one or two books for children which you read when you were a child that remains in your memory for one reason or another.
There are so many wonderful books for children on the market today that it can be difficult to choose what I want my daughter to have. As much as I'd love to get her every single book that my eyes rest on, I simply cannot afford to. Nor do we have the room in our home. Out of all of the books for children that exist, I tend to pick out my personal favorites that I grew up with to give to her.
Some amazing books never fade away. I remember reading books by Beverly Cleary when I was a child and they are still very much around today. She wrote some amazing stories and it amazes me that with all of the books for children that continue to come to us hot off of the presses, sometimes, the demand for the classic books is greater than expected.
Dr. Seuss wrote many books for children that are not only classics but have children demanding to see his story 'The Grinch' that become a major motion picture.
Sometimes, while society moves forward and books turn into movies and such, the best way to instill the excellence of a story into a child's head is to sit down and turn the pages.
Books for children motivate children to become avid readers and want to learn more. At least, that's what they are supposed to be doing. Parents can spend some wonderful quality time with their children simply by opening up a book.
My mother used to take me to the public library where they did have tons of aisles of books for children. I was allowed to sit on the little benches and read the books until I decided on which books I wanted to take home for the week.
Now, I'm the one who is taking my daughter to the library, where there still are tons of books for children. She loves to sit in my lap while I quietly read some of the books to her while we are there. If she finds one that she really enjoys, we take it home with us.
There are more authors who are focusing on writing books for children. There will always be a need for books for children as long as there are new generations being born.
